Welcome to the CESL Chatterbox blog!

Hello! First of all, welcome to (or welcome back to) CESL! I'm Amy, I'm the Librarian at the CESL Library (now open!) and I'm going to be your host on CESL Chatterbox.

So what is CESL Chatterbox? CESL Chatterbox is a place for CESL students of all abilities to practice their informal writing skills in an online discussion format. At least once a week (and maybe more!) I will post an interesting topic, article, video, or other piece for you to discuss and express your opinions about.

There are only two rules on CESL Chatterbox:

1. Don't use "Netspeak"! What is "Netspeak"? An example of "Netspeak" is writing the question "How are you?" as "How r u?" Or writing the word "great" as "gr8". While CESL Chatterbox is informal, you still need to use proper English!

2. Respect the other posters! It is okay to disagree with other students' opinions on CESL Chatterbox as long as you do it respectfully. There should be no swearing, YELLING, or name-calling on the blog. If I see you abusing other posters, I will block you from posting in the future. You have been warned!

Enough explanations and rules--let's get started! Leave a comment on the blog telling us who you are, where you are from, and what topics you would like to see/discuss on CESL Chatterbox this semester!

Talk to you soon!
